I have a deep affection for the Best Women's Erotica of the Year series. I picked up my first copy in a queer bookstore in college and furtively thumbed through the stories, feeling sexy and naughty. Flash forward a lot of years later, I still look forward to these volumes coming out!

Rachel Kramer Bussel has been editing this series for almost a decade now. I enjoy her approach to picking the stories which are included. She brings together recognized erotic writers and newbies in the field. The selection of stories is a balance of hot, sweaty, dirty sex and more romantic and tender stories. This volume is no exception.

Stories in this edition are penned by writers with extensive experience in the LesBiQueer romance world, LARPers from New York (shout out to my old, weird crowd of friends), and writers from multiple countries. Each story takes you into a world completely different than the one before. Reviewing it, I read through several in a sitting, feeling like I had a personally coordinated group of erotica stories to give me something which would strike my fancy. I also will end up picking up this volume to read through one story at a time as a quick bedtime story.
