I read a lot of work on D/s dynamics. This is the first book in a long time which captures the essence of dominance in the way I experience it. Lau's book isn't so much a "how to" but more of a "why" and an exploration of the energentics of D/s.

Lau's approach to the fundamentals of D/s is about creating a relationship with flow. They understand the spiritual or "woo" aspects of D/s in a why not many authors capture. It is easy to teach the technical skills of BDSM. It is much harder to explain why people love these relationships. This work does just that.

Lau's work is not lacking in technique explanations. She offers tools to help the aspiring dominant can utilize to create a better flow with partners. I finished this book and with a reinvigoration of my desire to deepen my own dominant exploration.
